The seminar aimed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of GST, its principles, and its significance in the context of the Indian economy to the B.Com students. The event featured expert speakers and professionals from Vanijya Vikas in the fields of finance, taxation, and economics, who shared their expertise and experiences with the attendees.
During the seminar, the speakers delved into the key aspects of GST, including its structure, implementation, and impact on various sectors. They discussed the benefits of the GST regime in streamlining indirect taxation, eliminating cascading effects, and promoting ease of doing business in the country. Additionally, the seminar addressed the challenges and opportunities arising from the GST framework, encouraging students to critically analyze its implications on businesses, consumers, and the overall economy.

The communication skill development program conducted at Shanthiniketan Degree College was a comprehensive and transformative initiative aimed at equipping students with essential communication skills for their overall personal and professional growth. The program was designed to address various aspects of communication, including verbal and non-verbal communication, active listening, public speaking, interpersonal skills, and written communication.
Through interactive workshops, practical exercises, and role-playing activities, students had the opportunity to enhance their ability to express ideas clearly and confidently. The program also focused on building self-confidence and improving body language to convey a positive and impactful presence in various settings.
On the occasion of Madam Marie Curie’s birthday, Shanthiniketan Degree College BSc department organized a special awareness program focusing on promoting a healthy lifestyle among its students. The program aimed to educate students about the significance of maintaining physical and mental well-being in their academic and personal lives.
During the awareness program, our own students from the department were invited to deliver informative sessions. They provided valuable insights into the importance of balanced diets, regular exercise, and adequate sleep in maintaining good health. Additionally, the sessions emphasized the significance of mental health, stress management, and mindfulness techniques to cope with the challenges of academic life and maintain overall well-being.
The Technical Workshop on Hardware and Computer Networking conducted at Shanthiniketan Degree College was a comprehensive and hands-on program designed to provide students with practical knowledge and skills in the field of information technology. The workshop covered various aspects of hardware components, computer systems, and network configurations.
During the workshop, students had the opportunity to work with actual hardware components and devices, learning how to assemble and troubleshoot computer systems. They gained insights into the functioning of processors, motherboards, RAM, storage devices, and peripherals.
Shanthiniketan Degree College hosted a highly informative guest lecture on “Searching and Sorting Concepts” by Assistant Professor Krishna from the Department of Computer Science at Acharyas B School, Bangalore. The lecture provided students with valuable insights into various searching and sorting algorithms, enhancing their understanding of data structures and algorithms in the field of computer science. Assistant Professor Krishna, with his expertise and engaging teaching style, elucidated the fundamental concepts and their practical applications, enriching the learning experience of the attendees and inspiring them in their academic pursuits and future careers.
