Faculty

Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry

The Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry offers comprehensive lectures and laboratory sessions in general chemistry, organic chemistry, pharmaceutical medicinal chemistry, and pharmaceutical analysis for undergraduate B. Pharm students. The curriculum ensures that students can bridge theory with practice, applying their theoretical knowledge effectively. This department equips students with the expertise needed for the synthesis, standardization, interpretation of drug interactions, and chemical substance analysis for medicinal use.

Department of Pharmacology

The Department of Pharmacology focuses on both research and academic activities, emphasizing the principles of drug action and the biological responses to drugs. Our mission is to provide high-quality preclinical and clinical education in pharmacology and therapeutics. We aim to educate and train graduate and postdoctoral biomedical scientists, conduct outstanding basic research, and participate in leadership within the College of Medicine and national scientific and professional societies. Toxicology, a key area within pharmacology, addresses the adverse effects of therapeutic drugs and other chemicals, an area increasingly relevant to modern society. Additionally, we integrate information technology through multimedia teaching methods for both theoretical and practical learning.

Department of Pharmacognosy

The Department of Pharmacognosy plays a vital role in the pharmacy curriculum, focusing on the study of crude drugs from plants, animals, and marine sources. The department offers undergraduate teaching supported by a well-equipped laboratory and a medicinal garden. Our curriculum imparts knowledge about natural medicinal products through both theoretical and practical approaches. The department features an undergraduate research laboratory, a crude drug museum, herbarium specimens of various plant materials, and modern equipment necessary for the extraction and isolation of natural medicinal products. The Medicinal Plant Garden enriches the learning experience with a diverse collection of medicinal herbs.
